Seemingly, the marketable Smart Fixer has exactly what an operator needs to ensure a smooth and quick running computer.

System optimization is the first step to speeding up the performance of your computer. Use of this feature makes it possible to minimize the clutter and other pointless junk that only serves to lag on your PC's service, initial startup, menu, and desktop. The intention of this, of course, is to reach maximum performance.

The system fix feature is actually quite handy. This tool is designed to scan the entirety of the computer for errors-not for malicious software, like the regular scan. It diagnoses these breaks or corruptions and gives the operator the option to fix or delete them. ActiveX, broken shortcuts, Winsock2 troubles, and other associated malfunctioning files waste usable space on your PC, resulting in a slower running and more aggravating system.

Scan and clean is the option that is used most commonly as the selling point. Along with the obvious, this feature also comes with an evidence and junk file cleaner. Although this evidence cleaner in particular may sound like incentive enough to set the PC Fixer apart from the rest, it is actually a classy way of explaining how it will delete your browsing history and internet cookies.

The system tools feature gives a few additional tools to help improve overall computer performance. These extras include access to a file splitter, a file shredder, an uninstall manager, a disk defragmenter, a windows update checker, an ActiveX blocker, a toolkit for use on internet explorer-for restore and management options, and a BHO manager.

Any legitimate registry cleaner should come equipped with a backup tool, which simply backs up computer files before it begins the scan and repair process. Especially for those that are not so technologically advanced, accidentally deleting an important file could lead to a total disrupt in computer usage ability. Backup is always an important tool to take advantage of.

Unfortunately, the Smart PC Fixer did not pass the worthwhile computer cleaner test. The only visible perk of the program was the easily navigated home page, which is not the most useful feature in scanning software. The scan feature itself caused other programs to lag when used simultaneously, and worked at slower pace than most.

The accuracy of the Smart Fixer's scanner was also a disappointment. Removal of errors is guaranteed, but that depends on if the scanner can detect any malicious activity. Particularly disruptive viruses are smart at disguising themselves, and this PC Fixer was no detective. While it can't be said that it is useless or simply a sham, there are several other available registry scanners in the same price range that produced a much more comforting result.

Aspects of colortheory

Colorfulness is a non-technical term for the measure of how intense a specific color appears. Similar, but technically correct terms, are saturation and chroma (Munsell). Colorfulness can simply be said to be the degree of difference between a color and gray. But what gray? Saturation on the other hand takes into account that all colors are not equally bright when fully saturated: A blue is darker than a yellow for example. This means saturation is the colorfulness of a color relative to its own brightness. In general, terms such as saturation, chroma and colorfulness are used as synonyms. The more colorful a color is, the more vivid and intense it seems, while less colorful colors appear muted and closer to gray. When all color has been removed and saturation is 0, the image is called a gray scale image. There is an overlap between lightness and saturation in that a more saturated color appears lighter.

Lightness, or what is termed "value" in the Munsell color space, is defined as a given colors placement on a scale ranging from black to white. In the Munsell color space this scale is divided into ten equidistant steps. The term "lightness", on the other hand, stems from the HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) and Lab color spaces. The term "value" is also used in the HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) color space, but used differently than in Munsell. Value in HSV does not range from black to white, but from black to the fully saturated color. Paints can be made lighter or darker by adding white or black, but that also reduces saturation. "Tone" is an obsolete term that stems from darkroom photography to denote the lightness of a specific area of the print. Yet "tone" is still used in art where light and dark "tones" are built up with charcoal or similar drawing medium.

When working with digital images, you can simply calculate lightness as (r+g+b+)/3. That, however, does not take into consideration that green is the brightest color and blue the darkest. The relative brightness of the color channels is taken into consideration in the IUV color space, that calculates lightness like this: i=(76*r+150*g+29*b)/256. The formula reflects the fact that green is about twice as bright as red and red about 2 times brighter than blue.

In painting the term "tone" denotes an intermediate between gray and pure color. A mixture of pure color and white is called a "tint" while a mixture of pure color and black is called a "shade". In reality tint and tone are not as simple a it sounds, because though they do not have color in themselves, when white or black are mixed with a color, the color changes hue. In other words, black in mixtures behaves like a blueish color. For example if you mix yellow and black you don't just get a darker yellow, but you get a darker and greenish yellow. Similarly will an addition of white make a color appear colder.

In software you can digitally create tints and shades by converting from the RGB color space to IUV or Lab color space and alter the L (lightness) channel as described above. This will not alter the hue of the color as when you mix pigments with black or white.

Last week Adobe has announced that from now on all its software including Photoshop will be available only through a web-based subscription service called Creative Cloud (CC) and that the ''perpetual licenses' or outright purchases of the software will cease with CS6.

That means the newest version of Photoshop named Adobe Photoshop CC will be available only to Creative Cloud members. (Other Adobe software too have typical name changes: InDesign CC, Illustrator CC, Dreamweaver CC and Premiere Pro CC .) The new subscription system will be available from June 17.

Adobe Photoshop
For years Adobe has been offering cutting edge technology for its users through individual apps and the Creative Suit. It was costly. And it was one of the most pirated software in the world. Once the new packaged software was made available by Adobe, hackers will make pirated versions available which can be downloaded and used for free.

The company's policy till now has been to unveil a new product with all the latest magic wands in every 18 months or so.

(However, Adobe will offer support for those who have purchased the latest version of the Creative Suit (CS6) ( a collection of all the Adobe products) till the next OS updates by Microsoft and Apple. The next version of Camera Raw will also be made available to them. But they may not get one of the most coveted features: camera shake correction. For that they will have to buy PS CC.)

What the cloud migration means for the customer is that the latest software will be made available to him continually. He will also get storage space in the cloud.

Here are a couple of new features added to Photoshop CC:
The most-awaited and deblurring and sharpening tools make their début in this version. The Camera Shake Reduction tool is one of the most prominent features. The Intelligent upsampling feature will allow users to blow up their images without getting pixelated.

Behance, the world's leading online creative community, is integrated with Creative Cloud, which means users can get feedbacks on their work from the community.

So, what about the pricing?
Anyone can try the apps for 30 days. During that period the user will get 2GB of cloud storage and limited access to other features.

The most affordable plan in which the user can access any one of the apps will start at Rs 1000 per month. This will be the best plan for Photoshop users in India.

In this plan the user will get 20 GB of storage space and limited access.

The complete access of the suit is available for Rs 2700 per month. The catch here is that the user will have to commit for 12 months. This will be the best plan for Individuals who use more two apps.

There are also other plans for existing Adobe customers. Any customer who has bought CS3 or later versions are eligible for special discounts. They can get the complete package for Rs1600 and a single app for Rs 499 a month. (This reduced price will be applicable only for the first 12 months.)

The 'Student & Teacher' plan also allows users to get access to the complete suit for Rs 1600 per month.

(The pricing for the 'Teams and Business' was not available at the time of writing this article.)

So, now on to the big questions:
Do we need an active internet connection to use the Photoshop or other Adobe products from now on? No. Once in a while the subscribers will have to connect to the internet. As long as we pay the subscription fee we will able to use the programme and enjoy the updates. We can store our images locally too. It will be like a live app that will continue to add new features.

Will this move by Adobe end piracy of its products altogether?
Adobe doesn't think so. The pirated version users may not get newer features released by the company immediately.

In this tutorial, I will show you the steps I took to Design an Interesting Cloud Text Effect in 3 Easy Steps in Photoshop. We will mainly use custom brushsets and utilise brush options to achieve this text effect. This is a beginner level tutorial, have a try :)

Note: The Photoshop tutorial is done in CS6 – therefore some screenshot may have slighting different layout as in the earlier version. Some brushes are exclusive to Photoshop CS6.

Create a new document sized 1400px * 700px, grab the Gradient Tool and fill the background layer with a light blue gradient:

We will type some texts onto our canvas, I used the “Lucida Handwriting” font that comes with Photoshop:

Load the smoke brush into Photoshop and use the following set:
