Photoshop Tip - Skin Retouching
Photoshop Tip - Skin Retouching
One of the most fundamental and skills used in portrait retouching with photoshop, is the correction of the skin. Fine lines, stains, etc. are especially prominent in close shots framed and can make the subject feel insecure. The retouching skin dilemma is that many times, the final product looks over-produced and false. The goal is not to erase the subject's personality, but to highlight the best features while minimizing distracting shadows and lines. If there are specific areas you want to hide, you first start using the clone tool or the spot healing brush in those places. Then try this trick to get a smooth natural glow without turning the subject into a plastic doll.
1. Open the image in Photoshop.
Two. Click and hold 'Cmd J "to create a new layer at the bottom or previous layers combine for a cohesive list by holding" Shift, Option, Command, E.'
Three. Click on the tab "Filter" from the main toolbar and go to "Blur" → "Gaussian Blur"
April. When the pop-up box, make sure the preview screen is enlarged enough to see its image. Increase the percentage of blur and disappear facial imperfections, but not so much that facial feature distinction disappears. In most cases, landed somewhere between 18% -30%.
May. Click "OK". His image now has a major stain on it completely. Do not worry, we're not done! In the bottom of the Adjustments panel, click on the "Add Layer Mask. Displays a box to the right of the control layer. This is your mask. With the mask selected, click 'Command I' to invert the box so that it is black and the image appears sharp again.
June. Select the brush tool and reduce the opacity slider in the layers panel of about 30-40%. This depends on your discretion, depending on the level of blur your want. For the most natural effect, it seems that somewhere between 30-40% produces the best smoothing results without looking too retouched and allowing the natural texture of the skin to show.
July. Select soft, round brush with 0% hardness and make it white. Focus on the features you want to soften its image (Command +) and a small circular brush tip, paint on features. The areas to be painted with the brush discover white Gaussian blur on the black mask below his image. Only the parts that you paint reveal the softer texture, while the rest of the image is still strong.
August. Once you are satisfied with the results, zoom (Ctrl -) and start a new layer to continue their issues (Shift, Option, Command, E).
I use this technique for editing most of my portraits close and often in wedding photography as well. It is especially flattering and once you get used to this process, the whole thing takes me only 1-2 minutes! Hope it works for you too!
