Photoshop Elements 12 Release Date Rumors & Expected Features
When it comes to Elements, Adobe’s release date cycles have historically been very predictable and have always released annually around the same each year. We expect to see all of the Elements 12 products, including Photoshop Elements 12, Premiere Elements 12 and the bundle of the two coming in September 2013.
Elements 12 software from Adobe Systems is expected to be announced and available for purchase in September 2013.

We absolutely hate buying and then finding out that two weeks later a newer release is out and we would have to pay for an another upgrade to have the latest new features. That’s why most software companies, including Adobe, have a technology guarantee; if you purchased a license during the last 30 days before the new version went on sale, then you can qualify for a complimentary upgrade to the newest version. Adobe doesn’t go out and notify customers who purchased single-user licenses about complimentary post-announce upgrades so you’ll have to just verify your eligibility with their customer service team. If you ordered at Adobe.com, be sure to have your order number ready. Just note that not all purchases from resellers will qualify for the free upgrade, so just be sure you know if the store is included in Adobe’s upgrade protection plan.
We like Photoshop Elements 11 because it already does most of what Photoshop CC/CS6 can do but at a fraction of the price. It can handle common raw files without problems (i.e., Nikon & Canon), has the power to do about 90% of what the more expensive Photoshop CC can do, and uses a lot less resources so it’s a perfect laptop photo editing program when working wirelessly. But it’s not perfect! In the upcoming Elements 12 update, we’d love to see it available as a 64 bit application vs. the current 32 bit so that it could handle a larger number of edits/photos much faster. The current version does not fully support 16 bit images and there is still no proper curves adjustment tool. Most of all, we would really like to see the “Organizer” part of Elements improved so that it’s much easier to use (just like in Lightroom).
