Photoshop - Saving and reusing selections
Photoshop provides tools to save and load selections. The selection process can be a task in itself. Being able to save your selection and return to use another picture that you work with can be a real time saver .
To save your selection , just create a selection, then choose Save from the menu select option " Select- > Save Selection ." When you choose to save your selection , you will be creating a new chain and it will be the default name provided by Photoshop. strings are grayscale that store different types of information on your image. When you create an image, Photoshop automatically creates color information channels with your "RGB "(red , green, blue ) color information . alpha channels store selections as grayscale images with a method to allow you to edit, view , or a mixture of parts of your image with another .
Once you have saved a selection, you can recall using the saved channel. This exercise will demonstrate how easy it can be . Choose a picture with a nice contrast between the foreground and background. Choose your plan using your choice of selection tools. Now, under the selection menu , choose "Select -> Save Selection foreground " " This will be your first choice for registered your only choice will be to save this selection, the channel with a new name . " .
Now , choose your background , or if you prefer, use the same choice, but choose its inverse in the selection menu " Select- > Inverse ." Choose " Save Selection " again and give this selection a new name , "background". at this point , if you click on the channel tab , you'll see your two new channels after the RGB channels with the default name of your supplied. you will also see the thumbnails that appear in black and gray , like a photographic negative . They will also appear to be opposite in black and gray .
Deselect your current selection using the ' Ctrl D'. Now, under the selection menu , choose "Select - > Load Selection " Choose one of your saved selections that were recorded as channels You will see the same choice that you activated with his signature " dotted . . mobile . Go through the same process , the choice of your other selection but this time when you load selections , choose another name for the channel. Now you will see the selection of your reactivated background for you to use as you wish.
